PT Semen Tonasa representatives deliver humanitarian aid for disaster-affected communities in West Manggarai.

WEST MANGGARAI, JurnalPost.com — PT Semen Tonasa distributed humanitarian aid to disaster-affected communities taking refuge in Kampung Londar, Sarae Naru Village, Macang Pacar District, West Manggarai Regency, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), on Thursday, August 20, 2026.

The aid is a form of the company's concern for the community currently facing emergency conditions due to the disaster. A number of basic necessities were distributed to the refugees, ranging from rice, instant noodles, and eggs to biscuits, with a total aid value reaching IDR 20 million.

In addition to logistical assistance, PT Semen Tonasa also held trauma healing activities for children at the evacuation site. The program was presented to help restore the psychological condition of children affected by the disaster.

The company believes that disasters not only cause material losses but can also provide psychological pressure, especially for children who are more vulnerable to facing emergency situations and sudden environmental changes.

General Manager of Communication, Legal, and General Affairs of PT Semen Tonasa, Muhammad Mursham, stated that the distribution of this aid is part of the company's concern as well as its social responsibility to the community.

“NTT is one of Semen Tonasa's market regions. Therefore, the relationship we build with the community in this region is not only in a business context, but also how we can be present and provide benefits when the community faces difficult conditions,” said Muhammad Mursham.

According to him, the company's presence in the midst of the community is not only realized through business activities, but also through social and humanitarian contributions.

“We hope this aid can help meet the basic needs of the refugees while providing moral support to the community, especially children who need post-disaster assistance,” he said.

The trauma healing activity, Mursham continued, is expected to provide space for children in the evacuation site to return to enjoyable activities, such as playing and learning, so as to reduce the pressure they feel after experiencing the disaster.

“For us, care is not only realized through material assistance, but also through presence and support for the community. Hopefully, this logistical aid, a collaboration between Semen Tonasa's TJSL and SIG's TJSL, can slightly lighten the burden on the refugees in Kampung Londar,” he said.

He added that special attention is given to children so that they continue to have space to experience a more positive atmosphere in the midst of evacuation conditions.

“Especially for children, we want to provide space to play and smile again through trauma healing activities,” he added.

Through these activities, PT Semen Tonasa hopes that the disaster-affected community can gradually recover, meet their basic needs, and return to their daily activities.

The distribution of aid is also part of the company's commitment to carrying out social and environmental responsibility (TJSL) programs, as well as building harmonious relationships with the community in both the operational and marketing areas of Semen Tonasa.
