JurnalPost.com - PT Semen Tonasa continues to strengthen an innovation culture oriented toward creating business value. This commitment was demonstrated through a Leaders Cafe event titled “From Ideas to Impact: Turning Innovation into Business Value,” held at the PT Semen Tonasa Headquarters Auditorium on Thursday (29/10/2026).

The event was attended by the Deputy President Director of PT Semen Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (SIG), Andriano Hosny Panangian, and the Human Capital Director of SIG, Hadi Setiadi, as guest speakers. The event was opened by the President Director of PT Semen Tonasa, Anis, and was attended by the board of directors, management, directors of affiliated companies, and the Band 1, 2, and 3 of PT Semen Tonasa.

In his remarks, the President Director of PT Semen Tonasa, Anis, emphasized that not all ideas can develop into innovations, and not all innovations generate business value. Innovations that provide business value must align with company strategy, have rational cost-benefit considerations, and be capable of solving the company's real-world problems.

He also encouraged a paradigm shift in the innovation culture, moving from a tendency toward quantity to one focused on quality and measurable impact. According to him, innovation must be directed toward addressing business challenges rather than merely fulfilling annual administrative targets.

Meanwhile, SIG Deputy President Director Andriano Hosny Panangian reminded attendees that innovation should not be a mere formality, but a strategic necessity to maintain business continuity amidst increasingly complex industry challenges.

He highlighted several challenges facing the cement industry, ranging from energy volatility and logistics complexity to decarbonization demands and market oversupply conditions. Therefore, operational efficiency must be balanced with innovation transformation that is more market-centric.

According to him, SIG possesses two primary competitive advantages: an extensive distribution network across Indonesia and a strong financial structure. These two assets serve as the foundation for developing market-based innovations and creating greater business value.

In the following session, SIG Human Capital Director Hadi Setiadi asserted that innovation always starts with people. He introduced an innovation cycle consisting of three stages—challenge, create, and compound—which emphasizes the importance of having the courage to challenge habits, create ideas, and replicate innovations to provide a broader impact for the company.

Hadi also presented SIG's innovation achievements throughout 2026. Out of 1,191 ideas submitted, 52 percent were successfully implemented into innovations with a business value reaching Rp308 billion, through revenue increases and cost avoidance.

Hadi emphasized the importance of building characters of curiosity, courage, and taking ownership in every employee. On the other hand, leaders must act as enablers or facilitators who provide space for the birth of ideas, encourage cross-departmental collaboration, and ensure that innovation produces tangible business impacts.

The spirit of “From Ideas to Impact” serves as a reminder that the success of innovation is not measured solely by the number of ideas generated, but by the ability to translate them into real impact and sustainable business value.
