Universitas Slamet Riyadi KKN students pose with participants and community members after the socialization event

JurnalPost, Sragen — Law students from the Faculty of Law at Universitas Slamet Riyadi held a legal awareness workshop for teenagers through the Youth Integrated Healthcare Center (Posyandu Remaja) program in Srawung Village, Gesi District, Sragen Regency. The event was themed “Law-Smart Youth: Preventing Digital Crime and Using Social Media Wisely.”

This socialization program was a collaborative effort by students participating in the Universitas Slamet Riyadi Community Service Program (KKN), featuring two student presenters, Krisworo and Gevalea Yoshe.

The program aims to equip the younger generation with a legal understanding directly related to their daily activities, particularly regarding internet and social media usage.

The rapid development of digital technology is considered to provide various conveniences for teenagers in accessing information, communicating, and expressing themselves. However, using technology without adequate understanding can also increase the risk of various issues in the digital space.

In his presentation, Krisworo discussed efforts to prevent digital crime. Participants were introduced to various forms of crimes and violations frequently encountered on the internet, ranging from online fraud, cyberbullying, and personal data misuse to the spread of misinformation and social media abuse.

Teenagers were also encouraged to recognize the patterns and modes of digital crime that often appear in daily life. This understanding is expected to increase their vigilance so they can maintain account security, protect personal data, and be more cautious when receiving information or suspicious offers via the internet.

Meanwhile, Gevalea Yoshe delivered material on the wise use of social media and the importance of legal awareness among teenagers.

Participants were encouraged to always consider the impact before uploading or sharing content on social media. They were also educated on the importance of maintaining privacy, not carelessly spreading personal data, using polite language, verifying the truth of information before sharing it, and respecting the rights and privacy of others.

The material presented by the two speakers was designed to complement each other. Krisworo focused on efforts to recognize and prevent digital crime, while Gevalea Yoshe emphasized how to use social media responsibly by understanding the legal consequences of every activity in the digital space.

The activity was interactive, featuring presentations, discussions, and case studies relevant to teenage life. Participants of the Srawung Village Youth Integrated Healthcare Center also had the opportunity to ask questions and share experiences regarding various issues they encountered while using social media.

Through this activity, the Universitas Slamet Riyadi KKN students hope that the teenagers of Srawung Village will become more conscious of being smart, safe, and responsible technology users.

Legal awareness from a young age is considered important as a preventive measure to reduce the risk of digital crime while encouraging the creation of a safer and more positive social media environment.

The “Law-Smart Youth” program also serves as an implementation of the knowledge gained by Faculty of Law students during their studies for the benefit of the community.

Through an educational approach that is simple and relevant to daily activities, the students strive to instill the understanding that the freedom to use social media must go hand-in-hand with ethics, responsibility, and compliance with the law.

With this training, the teenagers of Srawung Village are expected not only to be active in using social media but also to be critical of information, maintain personal security in the digital space, communicate wisely, and understand the consequences of every action taken on the internet.
